- Must be certified as an Al-Anon Member in Alateen Service (AMIAS), which requires at least 2 years of current, ongoing Al-Anon membership
- A love of young people and a deep interest in being of service to them
Duties:
- Act as a liaison between District, Alateen group, and fellow Alateen sponsors
- Attend District 12 meetings
- Facilitate an AMIAS sponsoring schedule to ensure each meet is staffed by 2 AMIAS

Treasurer

- Attend monthly District 13 meetings
- Pick up mail from the District 13 PO Box in Puyallup, WA
- Deposit checks
- Write and send checks for expenses and reimbursements
- Maintain records for income and expenses
- Create a Treasurer's Report for each District 13 meeting
Open Service Positions in Pierce County AIS
AIS Chairperson

The Chair assists the Pierce County AIS members in regards to interpreting the Al Anon/Alateen Service Manual and how it applies to the fellowship in Pierce County. The chair appoints coordinators and ad hoc committees in accordance with the directives of the Washington Area Handbook.
AIS Chair coordinates, motivates, and assist with problem solving with officers, coordinators, district representative, and other members of the AIS.

- Receives email inquiries from web site and replies in a timely matter.
Alternate AIS Chairperson

The Alt. Chair assists and serves as backup to the AIS Chair. If the AIS Chair has to step down, the Alternate Chair will serve as Chair.

- Attends all monthly Pierce County AIS meetings and leads if Chair is absent
- Acquaints him/herself with all the Chairperson's duties so that if the Chairperson is unable to serve, he/she can step in to fill the position
- Serves as backup for the District 12 and 13 business meetings, AWSC meetings, and WA Area Assemblies
Speaker Bureau Coordinator

- Maintains a list of Al-Anon members who are able to speak at treatment centers
- Coordinates an Al-Anon speaker when treatment centers request on
Second Saturday Speaker Meeting Host (Speaker Meeting Coordinator)

"Sharing Our Horizons" Second Saturday Speaker Meeting takes place the second Saturday of each month at:

Because of Covid, the Second Saturday Speaker Meeting is currently cancelled, but may resume soon.

"Sharing Our Horizons" Second Saturday Speaker Meeting takes place the second Saturday of each month at:
St. John’s Lutheran Church

Responsibilities:
- Attend the AIS business meeting on the first Tuesday of each month from 7:00 – 8:00 which is currently hybrid: in person at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fircrest, 1001 Princeton St. or on Zoom
- Coordinate with Church as needed
- Order/purchase any needed supplies and turn in your receipt to the AIS Treasurer to be reimbursed
- Arrive at St. John’s at 6:00pm to open the door, put out paper products, start coffee, and assist the hosting group. 6:30—folks eat; 7:00 –the hosting group has speakers share their experience, strength, and hope; and returning the rooms as we found them beginning about 8:00.
